An X Factor producer secretly released the truth this morning; that talks with Britney Spears for the job on the judging panel are 'dead in the water'. This comes as no surprise considering that Britney was asking for a reported $15million, and an 'out' clause so she could leave whenever she wanted, and not only that, but a 'no travel' clause, so she would never have to leave LA. It must have been annoying for the producers to see her being difficult.
In recent weeks, press attention has amped up and the public were excited to see Britney take a seat as a judge. Simon Cowell recently said; '"I can't confirm or deny anything right now. The truth is, we are talking to a number of people. It changes on a daily basis to be honest with you," he said while on Good Day New York. "You think you've made your mind up, then last night, two other people threw their names in the hat -- one a very famous singer, one a very famous actress -- and you gotta talk to everybody."
They have come up with a new ideal judge however, and they now have their sights set on another of the worlds biggest pop superstars; Rihanna. They think her sexy, sassy attitude, and booming pop tracks could bring a new edge to the show, while also having the ability to mentor the contestants in how to handle fame and the paparazzi. All this despite Gene Simmon of KISS referring to her as the 'queen of karaoke' on a TV show.
We're really disappointed that Britney won't be the new star of the show- but its made us more excited to find out who will be the new celebrity judges! Watch this space!
